Autism Awareness

This course introduces the spectrum of autism and how autism affects people in different ways. Some people with autism may not speak and yet have other ways of communicating, such as taking you to the thing they want. Others may have very good use of language on a topic of interest to them, and yet may not be able to tell you when they have a headache.

This course has been developed with subject matter experts from a specialist provider of support for people with Mental Health needs, Learning Disabilities, Autism and Acquired Brain Injuries.

"This was an excellent course. I found it was well written and presented, as well as finding the information very relevant to my role." - Darren Harrison, Isle of Wight Housing Support
